Big plays were the order of the day, as Kasper Skyum completed deep passes to practically the entire WR-corps. WR Lasse Tor, especially, had a big day, but WR Frederik Myrup had a long TD catch of his own.
In what is becoming a trend RB Anton Witmeur outraced the defense for a big TD on one of the very first offensive plays of the game.
Defensively, the Towers played a good game, but two big plays by the Demons ended up costing 12 points. TE Jonas Petterson hauled in an impressive one-handed catch for the Demons’ first TD. Sadly, Petterson would later leave the game in an ambulance after sustaining a scary arm injury, while tackling Towers FB Jannik Lindén.
Later, Demons WR Frederik Normann scored an impressive touchdown despite tight coverage by the Towers defense. Demons RB Mads Hyrsting, filling in for his older brother Lars Hyrsting, gave the Demons good field position on a several occasions.
Interestingly, Towers WR Frederik Myrup was used on defense for the first time and he notched his first ever sack on his very first snap.
The win didn’t come from free, though, as Towers defensive backs Christian Berg, a U19 player, and Mads Sydendal went down with injuries that required medical attention. Both were released from hospital later the same day to recover at home.
This was our first game at home, since the season opener on April 17th and it came after a tough stretch of four straight away games. The Towers, nonetheless, now own a 5-1 record and the second place in the National League, while the Demons are 2-4 at the sixth place.
Our next game will be a big one and one you surely don’t want to miss. We play our first game at our stadium field since renovation at the stadium began in 2014.
That game is against the Triangle Razorbacks and kick-off is at 14:00 (2 pm) on Sunday, June 19th. Tickets are 50 kr. per person. Hot dogs and drinks will be for sale at the field.
