National Team head coach Lars Carlsen has published his 45-man roster for this weekend’s international friendly against Poland. Eight of the names are familiar to Towers fans.
Three defensive backs, two offensive linemen, two wide receivers and a quarterback make up the Towers’ contribution to the Danish squad in Poland:
Aske Troen, WR
Frederik Myrup, WR
Jens Møller, OL
Kasper Skyum, QB
Magnus Bitsch, DB
Oliver Zacho, DB
Rasmus Thejl, OL
Sverri Finsson, DB
Despite being just 25 years old, this season marks OL Jens Møller’s 10th anniversary on the Danish National Team. Since donning the red and white uniform of the U19 National Team for the first time in 2006, Jens has participated in three European championships, one Nordic championship, a four-nation tournament in Italy, a few international friendlies, and now another friendly in Poland.
“It is always a huge experience to have the privilege of playing for the Danish National Team, so I’m very happy every time I’m given the opportunity. Those games are just special,” Jens explains.
The Towers are tied with the Aarhus Tigers for the most players on the National Team roster. To Jens Møller, having seven teammates alongside him on the National Team sends a message: “I find it very positive that the Towers again and again provide so many players to the National Team. It goes to show what kind of program we have here”.
The National Team will take the field in Cetniewo, about 50 kms north of Gdansk, on Saturday, August 6th at 18.00 (6 p.m.) local time. The Danish American Football Federation is currently checking whether the game will be streamed. Check their website for more news.
