As the winter darkness has Copenhagen engulfed in what seems like perpetual dreariness Tower Nation just received some exciting, purple news. Dayton Winn is returning for a second season with the defending champions.
The Towers are very excited that the reigning 2017 Danish National League MVP is returning to the Towers. He will once again play a very important part on the Towers’ offense. In 2017 Dayton averaged a TD every five times he touched the ball.
His versatility is already legendary in Denmark and in 2018 Towers fans can expect to see more of the same versatility. We expect Dayton to run the ball, catch passes and return kicks and punts.
Towers president, Jakob Munksgaard is understandably thrilled: ”This is great news for everyone in Tower Nation. Dayton had a fantastic season in 2017 and was an inspiration for everyone in the Towers organization. He is a great coach for our youth teams and I am sure our young players are delighted that he’s coming back”
The Towers will be anxious to become back-to-back champions in the Danish National League, which is always a tough task. This year, however, will be even more difficult as the Towers will face international competition of very high quality.
Thus head coach Peter Herbild is confident that Dayton will help put us in a position to win in Denmark and in Europe: “Having Dayton Winn return for another season is a fantastic scoop for us. Dayton was the most explosive player in Denmark last year and he will be a key component for our offense and special teams on our journey towards winning the North European Football League and reclaiming the national title.”
Having Dayton back with us along with a largely intact squad and key players returning from injury puts us in the best possible position to win games against some of northern Europe’s power house clubs.
